You spend your whole life looking for answers because you think the next answer will solve all your problems: make you a little less miserable, because when you run out of questions you don’t just run out of answers… you run out of hope.
“Don’t lose hope, dear” said the lady gazing into my face
“Hope is the one thing that will get you through any ordeal. Hang onto hope like a lifeline. It will get you far. Trust me on that” She said.
“I see a strength in you that I’m not sure you can see yourself. Let them see that strength along with all the parts of you that you hide from them.”
My mouth falls open, and I start to object, but she chuckles. “Don’t deny it, my dear. I can see it written all over your face. You hide your true self from those who need to see it most. Show them, and all will be well.”
“Don’t lose hope” – I was told
Hope was said to be
The only thing – that could get me through
(even) any life threatening ordeal
