My First Gavel Meeting

I entered into a hall, feeling awkward and unsure,
New faces, unknown voices and a mysterious allure,
The weight of first impressions, heavy on my mind,
I put on a brave smiling face, leaving all nervousness behind.

The Gaveliers were friendly, and we quickly got along,
Conversations flowed easily, making me feel like I did belong.

The meeting adjourned, announcing the theme with cheer,
“Cats and Dogs”, they said, a topic that brought joy near and dear.
My mind started whirring, arranging my thoughts to speak out.
I took up the courage, went up there, and spoke my heart out.

The room listened closely, their smiles bright and true,
I felt a sense of accomplishment, as my confidence grew.

As speeches and stories echoed through the room,
The space was filled with laughter and joyful bloom.

Leaving the hall, to me it dawned,
In a room of eager voices, I found my own.
